Abstract

Novel peptides and the uses thereof, in particular for use in male contraception or for use in the treatment of male infertility.

Claims

A peptide comprising or consisting of the following amino acid sequence: H-GQQDQDRKVICFVAVSTLNV-NH2.
A peptide comprising or consisting of the following amino acid sequence: H-KPNATRPVTPPRVASGLNPSIQKASNYRNNTVLY-NH2.
A peptide according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the peptide comprises a cell- penetrating peptide.
A peptide according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the cell-penetrating peptide is selected from the group consisting of penetratin (RQIK1WFQNRRMKWKK), HIV-derived tat
(GRKKRRQRRRPQRNYF), transportan 10 (AGYLLGKINLKALAALAKKI). C105Y (CSIPPEVKF KPFVYLI), mitoparan (INLKKLAKL(Aib)KKIL), nosangiotide (RKKTFKEVANAVKISA), cytochrome C5"13 (KGKKIFIMK).
A peptide according to claim 4, wherein the cell-penetrating peptide is penetratin.

A method of providing contraception, comprising administering an effective amount of a peptide according to any one of claims 1 to 7 to a subject in need of male contraception.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a peptide according to any one of claims 1 to 7 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
