(a) co-culturing human embryonic stem cells with stromal cells that do not express macrophage colony-stimulating factor, wherein the stem cells are induced to differentiate into multipotent lympho-hematopoietic progenitor cells and wherein the culture is free of exogenously added cytokines;\n
(b) culturing the progenitor cells with granulocyte/macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) under non-adherent conditions to cause the expansion of myeloid precursors cells, wherein at least 90% of the cells obtained are CD45+, and at least 90% of the CD45+ cells also express MPO and CD33, but not TdT;\n
(c) further differentiating the myeloid precursors in the presence of GM-CSF and IL-4 to form cells that have the phenotype of immature dendritic cells; and\n
