a second diluent inlet port in fluid communication with the diluent container, and further in fluid communication with the integral filter;\n
a third peristaltic pump for pumping diluent from the diluent container into the apparatus through the second diluent inlet port, wherein the diluent is pumped through the filter in a second direction opposite to the first direction, whereby the segregated analyte is mixed with the diluent to form an analyte suspension;\n
a flow cell for housing the analyte suspension for analysis;\n
a light source and a spectrophotometer in communication with the flow cell for analyzing the analyte suspension;\n
a processing unit adapted to control the first, second and third peristaltic pumps, and the light source and spectrophotometer; and\n
