Abstract

4-Oxocyclopentenyloxy-substituted carboxylic acid derivatives (I) are new. 4-Oxocyclopentenyloxy-substituted carboxylic acid derivatives of formula (I), including their optical and/or geometrical isomers (pure or mixtures in any proportions), their salts, solvates and/or hydrates are new. R1 = OR4 or NR4R5; R4, R5 = H, alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, heteroaryl, heterocycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aralkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, heteroaralkyl or heterocycloalkylalkyl (all optionally substituted); R2 = alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, heteroaryl, heterocycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aralkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, heteroaralkyl or heterocycloalkylalkyl (all optionally substituted); R3 = H, halo or as R2; and n = 1-6. An independent claim is included for a method for preparing (I). [Image] ACTIVITY : Dermatological; Antiseborrheic; Antiinflammatory; Antipsoriatic; Cytostatic; Immunosuppressive; Vulnerary; Anorectic; Antidiabetic; Antiarthritic; Antiasthmatic; Antiarteriosclerotic; Hypotensive. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Modulation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors, particularly the alpha and delta subtypes. (1'R*>,5'R*>)-6-(5-heptyl-2-iodo-4-oxocyclopent-2-enyloxy)hexanoic acid had dissociation constant of 1000, 500 and 30 nM at receptor subtypes alpha , delta and gamma respectively.
