Abstract
<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DNA encoding a frazzled protein family including WA628, a method for producing the DNA and use thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The protein may be used in inducing the expression of a factor in tissues and organs and/or the differentiation of tissues and organs, particularly, may be used in inducing the formation, growth, differentiation, proliferation and/or maintenance of various tissues and organs. The protein is useful in the treatment of various disorders associated with defects in cellular formation, growth, differentiation, proliferation and/or maintenance of a variety of tissues and organs including, for example, brain, lung, pancreas, liver, spleen, kidney, small intestine and/or other tissues and organs. The protein is also useful for augmenting the activity of other tissue regenerating and differentiation factors.
