Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DNA encoding a frazzled protein family including WA628, a method for producing the DNA and use thereof.
SOLUTION: The protein may be used in inducing the expression of a factor in tissues and organs and/or the differentiation of tissues and organs, particularly, may be used in inducing the formation, growth, differentiation, proliferation and/or maintenance of various tissues and organs. The protein is useful in the treatment of various disorders associated with defects in cellular formation, growth, differentiation, proliferation and/or maintenance of a variety of tissues and organs including, for example, brain, lung, pancreas, liver, spleen, kidney, small intestine and/or other tissues and organs. The protein is also useful for augmenting the activity of other tissue regenerating and differentiation factors. Especially, the protein is useful for modulating hematopoietic tissue and modulating the development of gut, brain and muscle tissues.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
