Tadalafil For The Treatment Of Dementia

Abstract

The present invention relates to tadalafil, pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof, for use in the prevention or treatment of dementia and Alzheimer's disease in a geriatric patient, wherein tadalafil is administered at a dose of 0.01-9 mg/day. The present invention also relates to the use of tadalafil, pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof, for the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention or treatment of dementia and Alzheimer's disease in a geriatric patient, wherein tadalafil is administered at a dose of 0.01-9 mg/day. These uses of tadalafil comprise the administration to a geriatric patient of an amount of 0.01-9 mg/day effective to prevent or combat dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The invention also relates to a method of preventing or treating dementia and Alzheimer's disease in a geriatric patient, comprising administering to said patient an effective amount of tadalafil, wherein tadalafil is administered at a dose of 0.01-9 mg/day.
