Abstract

The invention provides compositions comprising isolated BMAL1 protein and isolated CLOCK protein; isolated BMAL1 protein, isolated CLOCK protein and further comprising isolated PER protein and (optionally) isolated TIM protein; BMAL1/CLOCK-dependent assays for identifying modulators of period gene expression; and methods of diagnosing disorders which are linked to an abnormality of the circadian clock.
