PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reagent for examining diabetic complications capable of judging whether diabetic nephropathy is developed or not even without specifying or following a marker in a diabetic's body fluid, and, if developed, which stage its progression extent comes to, the first, second, third or fourth stage, by such a simple operation as to make an activity assay by contacting the subject's body fluid such as urine or blood with the reagent, and refining the symptom progression prediction such as considering the effectiveness of treatments in the first to fourth stages and when to adopt a hemodialysis, thus extremely effective for relevant doctor's diagnostic support.
SOLUTION: The reagent for examining diabetic complications includes a combination of four kinds or more of substrate peptides each with three amino acids are bound together; wherein, as the amino acid, an L-amino acid found commonly in naturally occurring protein can be used, and each of the substrate peptides can be synthesized by an ordinary peptide synthesis method such as a solid or liquid phase method.
