PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a composition and a device for inducing growth of neural cells, and a method, a composition and a device suitable for regenerating nerve cells and nerve tissue and repairing neural defects.
SOLUTION: A nerve replacement device includes an artificial nerve replacement vessel including an effective amount of a bone morphogenetic protein sufficient for promoting growth of stellate cells and a composition including a suitable matrix carrier. The bone morphogenetic protein is selected from a group of BMP-2, BMP-4, BMP-5, BMP-6, BMP-7, BMP-2/6 heterodimer, and BMP-2/7 heterodimer.
